Dance for Transformation
“Your body is the ground metaphor of your life, the expression of your existence.
It is your Bible, your encyclopedia, your life story.”
I’ve spent the vast majority of the past 30+ years being fascinated by and ‘reading’ the encyclopaedia of the body. From my first Leadership Training course when I was 16 to my first Sweat Lodge when I was 20, I have been trained to take note of and trust the invisible as much as the visible.
I have an intrinsic trust that all the ingredients for wellness are right there, tucked away in hidden shy places or under our very noses. I believe, or ‘know’ that dancing with awareness – with conscious enquiry – is a reliable gateway for health and vitality on all levels.
I love to dance and I love to move; is there a difference? Some people hear the word dance and their eyes light up with joy and excitement. For others the term dance can be limiting and intimidating, igniting anxiety and fears of not being good enough or of being judged. Movement on the other hand is impossible to avoid while you are alive ~ if you’re reading this you’re moving your eyes, your lungs, your blood and much more.
“All that is important is this one moment in movement. Make the moment important, vital, and worth living. Do not let it slip away unnoticed and unused.”
Through Vital Moves classes, workshops and Individual work, time and again I witness extraordinary transformations in people. These are a testament to the simple and potent results that can be accessed when the wisdom of the body is given priority, beyond the rational mind.
Any and all aspects of your human self will be touched by working with me – it has been joked that a warning should be placed on my fliers to only come dance with me if you are open to radical change! Find out here how to Work with Me.
“I have been lucky enough to be a student of Deborah’s for over twenty years. To witness her development is a true joy. She brings a real maturity to her teaching which means I can truly relax into my own dance with confidence and trust. When I need to have a safe container for my own transformation I dance with Deborah. I can’t recommend her too highly.”
