States of Being - ONLINE
Welcome aboard!
I am really excited to be offering this workshop online once more and I look forward to exploring this format with you. Please read through the following recommendations, so that you are well prepared for our journey together.
Please make sure that you have updated your Zoom to the latest version before the workshop, in order to be able to use all of the necessary features!
The Zoom room will be open 15 minutes before the sessions start (from 9:45am UK time), so you are very welcome to get in early, make sure your technical set up is working well, and then you can have plenty of time to warm up and dance!
There will be a shorter warm up at the start of the session, so get online early to enjoy the music!
What do I need to join a class online?
You’ll need a computer, tablet or phone, and a good internet connection.
Download the zoom app here. It is painless, fast, and free.
If you are new to Zoom please do watch this introductory video from Zoom.
If you have a computer, we recommend choosing that over the tablet or phone. Not only will the sound be better but also you can interact more and see more of others.
If you can, connect your computer/phone to an external speaker for better sound quality.
Make some space to dance. If you are in a shared space, find a room to yourself so you can dance un-self consciously. Minimise distractions (doorbell/ email/ phone/household appliances/TV) so that you can be as present as possible.
Wear comfortable clothes to move in.
Have your water bottle nearby, and if you have low blood sugar, also some snacks.
Have a journal/paper and pen nearby, we will use them for writing.
Some device that you can use for timing in the breakout rooms in case it is needed.
If you’re in a shared space, please consider using headphones for confidentiality.
For more helpful tips on how to use Zoom, see Open Floor’s How it works page.
How much does it cost to join?
At Vital Moves we are aware that many people are in a challenging economic situation and we have a commitment to making this work available to as many people as possible. I started experimenting with offering some of my work with a flexible payment system. This has worked out well until now, so I am happy to stay with it. Usually this workshop would be priced at £65 - £50 concession. I am asking for a £20 registration fee, and at the end of the workshop, I will guide a financial attunement where you will be invited to contribute more, if you are able to. Please do get in touch if you have any questions regarding payment!
Isn’t this too much time on the screen?!
There is a variety of different ways in which you will be spending the time during the session. There will be time for you to move in your own space, without any instruction, time to be in breakout rooms, and there will be the opportunities to work 1:1 with me with the group support - the signature piece of my States of Being work. There will probably be at least 2 opportunities for people to have short potent 1:1 work with me.
I feel confident that you will have a satisfying, enjoyable and intimate experience, with plenty of movement and deep connection. Of course, it will be different than an in-person event, and there will be bonuses too! People have been appreciating being in their own space for example, and integrating the work directly in their daily living environment.
Responsibility
Each participant is fully responsible for their own physical, psychological and emotional health during the workshop and participates at their own risk.
I would appreciate knowing in advance if you have any accessibility needs that would be helpful for me to be made aware of, and if are on any kind of medication. This information will be treated confidentially - please email me directly.
Team
I will be assisted on this workshop by Masha Kozlovskaya and Hester Hudig, who are both Open Floor Teachers and Therapy-in-Motion practitioners.
On-the-day Communication
If you have any issues ON SUNDAY MORNING i.e. with the zoom link, have been delayed or need assistance - please email Beth: beth@vitalmoves.co.uk.
